Everything you need to know about Fulgent Chihuahua Homes, our puppies, the adoption process, and caring for your new companion.
Fulgent Chihuahua Homes is a premium Chihuahua breeding and adoption platform dedicated to connecting families with healthy, well‑socialized puppies. We raise every puppy in a loving home environment — not a cage or kennel — and provide full health documentation, breeder support, and lifelong guidance to every family we work with.
We have been breeding and placing premium Chihuahua puppies for over 8 years. During that time, we have helped more than 500 families across the United States and internationally find their perfect companion. Our experience, love for the breed, and commitment to ethical standards have made us one of the most trusted Chihuahua breeders online.
Absolutely. Ethical breeding is at the heart of everything we do. Our puppies are raised in a genuine home environment, not a puppy mill or commercial kennel. We carefully select breeding pairs based on health, temperament, and genetic history, and all of our parent dogs receive regular veterinary care. We never overbred our females, and every litter is given individual attention from birth.
All of our Chihuahua puppies are raised inside our home — not in cages, kennels, or outdoor facilities. They grow up surrounded by people, everyday household sounds, and gentle routines that help them develop into confident, well‑adjusted companions. This home‑raised foundation makes a visible and lasting difference in temperament and socialization.
We breed both Smooth Coat (short hair) and Long Coat Chihuahuas in a wide variety of AKC-recognized colors and markings. Both coat types are natural varieties of the breed and share the same bold, affectionate, and loyal temperament that makes Chihuahuas such wonderful companions. We can help you choose the right coat type for your lifestyle and preference.
Chihuahuas are the world's smallest dog breed. Most adults weigh between 2 and 6 pounds and stand under 9 inches tall. We can provide estimated adult size projections based on the puppy's parents and current weight at the time of adoption. If size is an important factor for you, let us know and we'll guide you to the best match.
Well-socialized Chihuahuas can be wonderful family dogs. Due to their small size, we generally recommend Chihuahuas for homes with older, gentle children who understand how to handle small dogs carefully. With proper introduction and socialization, Chihuahuas can coexist happily with other pets. Our puppies are raised in a household setting that helps them adapt well to family life.
Chihuahuas are one of the longest-living dog breeds, with an average lifespan of 12 to 20 years when properly cared for. Their longevity makes them one of the most rewarding companions you can choose. We provide every family with a full health and care guide designed to support a long, healthy, and happy life for their Chihuahua.
Yes — Chihuahuas are one of the best breeds for apartment and city living. Their compact size means they don't need a large yard, and their daily exercise needs can be met with short walks and indoor play. They thrive on human companionship and adapt very well to smaller living spaces as long as they receive consistent attention and mental stimulation.
Yes. Every puppy undergoes a full veterinary health examination before being cleared for adoption or travel. This includes a physical health check, parasite prevention, and verification that all vaccinations are up to date. We provide a complete set of vet records with every puppy so new families have a clear medical history from day one.
Our puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations following standard veterinary protocols, which typically include the distemper, parvovirus, and adenovirus combination vaccine (DHPP) administered in a series of shots starting at 6–8 weeks of age. We also administer parasite prevention treatments. A full vaccination record will accompany your puppy at the time of adoption.
Yes. Our breeding dogs are screened for common hereditary conditions associated with Chihuahuas, including heart conditions, patellar luxation, and hypoglycemia predispositions. We select breeding pairs with care to minimize health risks in offspring and maintain the highest possible standards for long-term puppy health and quality of life.
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is a condition that can affect very young or very small Chihuahua puppies, particularly under the age of 4 months. It is manageable with proper feeding frequency and diet. We provide every family with a clear feeding schedule and guidance on how to recognize and respond to early signs of hypoglycemia. With proper care, most puppies grow out of this sensitivity as they mature.
Yes. Every puppy from Fulgent Chihuahua Homes comes with a health guarantee covering congenital and hereditary conditions detected within a specified period after adoption. Our guarantee reflects our commitment to the quality and health of every puppy we place. Full details of the health guarantee are provided at the time of purchase and included in your puppy's documentation.
The adoption process begins with browsing our available puppies on the website. Once you find a puppy you're interested in, you can contact us directly to express your interest, ask questions, and discuss the adoption steps. We review all applications to ensure the best possible match between the puppy and the family. A deposit secures your chosen puppy while final arrangements are made.
Yes. You can place a deposit to reserve a puppy before it reaches the minimum adoption age. During this waiting period, we keep you updated with photos and milestone updates so you can watch your puppy grow. Reserving early is recommended as our litters are in high demand and puppies are often spoken for before they are ready to leave.
Our puppies are released to their new families at a minimum of 8 weeks of age, which is the standard recommended age for puppy separation. In some cases, smaller puppies may need to stay a little longer to ensure they are strong enough for travel and transition. We never rush this process — we always prioritize the puppy's health and readiness over convenience.
Every puppy from Fulgent Chihuahua Homes comes with a complete documentation package including: a veterinary health certificate, vaccination and deworming records, a pedigree certificate (where applicable), a health guarantee, a feeding and care guide, and emergency contact information for post-adoption support. We believe in full transparency and want you to have everything you need from day one.
We may ask you a few questions about your living situation, lifestyle, and experience with dogs to help us match you with the right puppy. This isn't a formal lengthy process — it's a friendly conversation designed to ensure the best possible outcome for you and your puppy. We want every Fulgent Chihuahua to go to a home where they will truly thrive.
Yes. We ship puppies to approved locations within the United States and to select international destinations, subject to airline guidelines and governmental import regulations. We carefully coordinate all travel arrangements to ensure your puppy's safety and comfort throughout the entire journey. We will walk you through every step of the shipping and airport pickup process.
Puppies travel via commercial airlines in airline-approved, ventilated travel crates that are padded and clearly labeled as "live animal." The cargo areas used for pet travel are climate-controlled and monitored. Before any travel is confirmed, we ensure the weather conditions and flight duration are safe for the puppy's age, size, and health status.
If a delay occurs due to weather, airline scheduling, or health reasons, we will notify you immediately and provide a revised travel timeline. Your puppy will remain in our care, safe and comfortable, until conditions allow for safe travel. We never ship under unsafe conditions, and we communicate proactively so you are always informed.
Yes! In-person pickup is available and warmly welcomed for families who prefer to collect their puppy directly. We can arrange a pickup meeting at a mutually convenient location. Meeting in person also gives you the opportunity to ask questions, see the puppy's documentation, and begin bonding with your new companion right away.
We recommend a high-quality small-breed puppy food that provides balanced nutrition appropriate for toy breeds. Chihuahua puppies have fast metabolisms and should be fed small meals 3–4 times per day to prevent hypoglycemia. We provide a feeding schedule with every puppy and recommend continuing with the same food brand initially to avoid digestive upset during the transition to a new home.
Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are energetic and benefit from 20–30 minutes of physical activity per day, split across two short walks or indoor play sessions. They enjoy interactive toys, short outdoor adventures, and games that stimulate their intelligent minds. Avoid over-exercising young puppies — short, gentle sessions are best until they reach 6 months of age.
Chihuahuas are highly intelligent but can be stubborn, so consistency and positive reinforcement are key. They respond extremely well to reward-based training using treats and praise. Early socialization and basic obedience training started at 8–12 weeks will set a strong foundation. We include a starter training guide with every puppy to help new owners begin training with confidence.
Smooth coat Chihuahuas require minimal grooming — a weekly brush and monthly bath is usually sufficient. Long coat Chihuahuas benefit from brushing 2–3 times per week to prevent tangles. Both coat types need regular ear cleaning, nail trimming every 3–4 weeks, and dental care, as Chihuahuas are prone to dental disease. We provide a full grooming guide with every puppy.
Yes — Chihuahuas are sensitive to cold due to their small body mass and thin coat (especially smooth-coat varieties). They often need a sweater or jacket for outdoor walks in cold weather. In very cold climates, limiting outdoor exposure and providing warm indoor bedding is important. Their tiny bodies lose heat much faster than larger breeds.
We accept multiple secure payment methods including major credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and selected digital payment platforms. All transactions are processed securely and transparently. We do not accept unverifiable payment methods. If you have a question about a specific payment option, please contact us directly and we'll be happy to assist.
Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to officially reserve a puppy. This deposit secures your place in line and ensures your chosen puppy is held exclusively for you. The remaining balance is due before the puppy is released for adoption or travel. All deposit terms and conditions are clearly communicated at the time of reservation.
We take every adoption very seriously and work hard to ensure you are matched with the right puppy for your lifestyle. In the rare case of a documented health issue covered under our health guarantee, we will work with you on an appropriate resolution, which may include veterinary reimbursement or a puppy replacement as outlined in the guarantee terms. We do not accept returns based on change of preference.
